Sweet Symphony offers Clarinet Lessons to Students of all ages and abilities from their Studio in Washington, Tyne and Wear.

“The lessons are well structured and focus in on any areas for improvement whilst also expanding her musical abilities. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the student portal is an excellent adition allowing me to change and keep track of lessons.”

Clarinet Lessons

Clarinet Lessons are available for both children and adults. Don’t worry if you’re an absolute beginner – we welcome all ages and all levels of ability.

For those interested in passing music exams, Sweet Symphony Students use the Trinity exam syllabus and sit their exams right here in our very own Studio. Not interested in exams? That’s fine – you’re more than welcome to just learn for pleasure. We don’t pressure any of our Students into exams.

FAQ

Do I need my own Clarinet?

Students will need their own Clarinet to use in Lessons and for practice at home. We can recommend some local retailers who are very reasonably-priced and also offer instrument-rental schemes. Unfortunately for hygiene purposes we’re unable to lend out Studio brass/woodwind instruments.

I’m an adult and I’ve never played before…am I too old to start learning?

Absolutely not – you’re never too old! Although it may be true that children tend to pick up things a little easier (they’re used to learning new things every day), as long as you’re keen to learn and are committed to practise regularly, you’ll make great progress!

How much are your Clarinet Lessons?

Our Clarinet Lessons are offered as 1:1 tuition and are £14.00. For more information on our lesson formats and prices, please click here.

What age do you start teaching at?

For Clarinet Students, we can offer lessons from age 6 using the fantastic Nuvo Clarineo (read about the Nuvo instruments in our blog here). If you’d prefer not to use a Clarineo and instead go straight for the regular Bb Clarinet, we’d recommend starting at around age 8.
