Lessons For All Ages

Learn in a friendly, relaxed environment where the focus is on learning and enjoyment. Whether you’re a 4-year old just discovering your love of music, or a 65-year-old who has always wanted to learn to play, we have the lesson for you! Our tuition is tailored to each individual student so you can rest assured that you’ll always be learning at a level suitable to your age and ability.

Modern, 21st-Century Lessons

Gone are the days of music lessons filled with stuffy scales drills and old-fashioned, mundane repertoire. At Sweet Symphony we incorporate the use of modern technology into our lessons on a regular basis. Apps for tablets and iPads play a big role in our lessons as we learn to read music and play popular songs. Students also have the opportunity to digitally record their songs, which are then uploaded to our website for students and parents to download.

Excellent Exam Pass-Rate

Sweet Symphony has an excellent exam pass-rate for all levels of examinations taken, with 100% pass-rate being the norm for most exam sessions in both theory and practical exams. Exams are by no means compulsory, but the majority of our students enjoy having something to aim towards, and exams focus their practice accordingly.

Excellent Parent-Teacher Communication

After each lesson, teachers send a lesson report to the student/parent, detailing what was covered in the lesson as well as a reminder of what students are required to practise at home in preparation for their next lesson. This enables parents to remain informed as to how the lessons are going and to be involved in their child’s musical education.

Each parent is also given their own unique login to the Sweet Symphony website, which they can use to view previous lesson notes, check invoices, download supplementary material and contact their child’s teacher.

Student Achievement Celebrated

Sweet Symphony awards a prize each month to the student deemed to have really excelled most in their efforts that month – whether it’s passing an exam, completing a tuition book or finally mastering those last couple of bars of a tricky phrase. Sweet Symphony believes that celebrating every achievement is the key to developing confidence and self-belief. Students are encouraged to push themselves and realise their full potential in their playing.

Annual Concerts

Each year, Sweet Symphony students participate in a Christmas concert.  All students are encouraged to perform, regardless of age or ability. Friends and family are all invited to hear the progress everyone has made in the past year, and performing regularly helps to develop players’ confidence.

Giving Back To The Community

Sweet Symphony students take part in a Practice-A-Thon each year, practising their instruments and raising several hundreds of pounds for CLIC Sargent, a charity to help young people with cancer.

Student Success

Previous students have gone on to have major success as musicians, winning International competitions.
